Each piece is carefully handmade using real, sustainably sourced insects. To keep you artwork looking beautiful for years to come, here are a few simple care tips:
Display Indoors Only
Keep your piece in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and high humidity. Avoid displaying in bathrooms that have a bath or shower or kitchens.
Dust Gently
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the glass as needed. Avoid using cleaning sprays directly on the frame or fabric.
Protect from Pests
Like dried flowers or taxidermy, natural insect specimens can attract small beetles if stored in warm or humid areas.
Check your piece every few months for signs of tiny brown bugs or powdery residue.
If you notice anything, remove the back from the frame. Place the insect and the matting in a ziploc bag. Seal the bag and place in the freezer for 48-72 hours to kill any potential pests, then return it to a clean, dry spot.
Handle with Care
Avoid shaking or dropping the frame, as butterflies and insects are delicate.
